The foundation for the Howle Law Firm as it exists today was laid in 1993, when Newton I. Howle, Jr. began practicing at law at 100 Saint John’s Street in downtown Darlington, South Carolina.  As a general practitioner, Newton, or “Bill,” as he is affectionately known,  has served as a public defender, solicitor, and while focusing on litigation, he began the tradition of the ethical and compassionate practice of law we continue to this very day. Following his time as general practitioner, Bill began to serve as a prosecutor for the South Carolina Department of Social Services, which has become the bulk of his practice.

Bill’s son Parker E. Howle joined the firm in 2010, and also began his practice as a general practitioner, handling all types of cases, including family law, personal injury, and criminal defense.  In July 2017 the firm relocated to 88 Public Square in Darlington, South Carolina where Parker’s practice focuses mainly on real estate and probate law.  Parker’s  experience in other areas of law serves him well as both an attorney and counselor for the city of Darlington.  The downtown location was originally once Farmer’s Hardware, owned at various times by both Bill’s father, “Newt” and his uncles, “Buddy”  and Wade Howle.

Today, The Howle Law Firm seeks to continue the ethical and compassionate practice traditions that began with Bill more than thirty years ago while serving Darlington, South Carolina and the surrounding areas.
