The foundation for the Howle Law Firm was laid in 1993 when Newton I. Howle, Jr. began his practice at 100 Saint John’s Street in downtown Darlington, South Carolina. As a general practitioner, Newton, or “Bill,” as he is affectionately known, has served as a public defender, and solicitor. While focusing on litigation, he began the tradition of the ethical and compassionate practice of law, that we continue to this day. Following his time as a general practitioner, Bill began to serve as a prosecutor for the South Carolina Department of Social Services, which became the bulk of his practice.
In 2010, Bill’s son Parker E. Howle joined Howle Law Firm as a general practitioner handling various cases, including family law, personal injury, and criminal defense. In July of 2017, Parker founded the current Howle Law Firm located at 88 Public Square in Darlington, South Carolina. This building was, at one time, Farmer’s Hardware and was owned multiple times by both Bill’s father and his uncles. Today, The Howle Law Firm seeks to continue the ethical and compassionate ideals that began with Bill more than thirty years ago.
